I know a lot of ExpertsColumn users how are also on Triond. I’ve lately been been receiving messages from other ‘ Triond users ‘ asking me out on dates, others have sent me a sob story begging me to send them money.

A Child - For the most part being a child is great. You don’t have a care in the world, never thinking about tomorrow. You live in the present. There are no responsibilities, everything is provided for you, food, clothes, Shelter. Your biggest worries are usually what you’re going to have for dinner, or what Santa will bring you at Christmas. Life is pretty simple at this age.

Television shows like Teen Mom makes it seems pretty easy. Despite the fact they had their children very young and work dead end jobs, they can still afford cars, houses, tattoos, and cosmetic surgeries. That is the world of showbiz, but real life is not like that.

That is not to say someone who isn’t very well educated is a bad person, but whether we realize it or not it does help shape who we are, and who we may become. I am friends with a number of different people and within my circle I have noticed a direct link between the quality of education and how they live their lives.

For example my friends who went to college aspire to do something with their lives. They have a job and a much better attitude towards life and people. The can hold a decent conversation and respect people’s opinions.

I imagine most people would agree with this statement yet in British footballers are paid more than triple than someone who was fighting the war in Afghanistan would, personally I think its a disgrace.

Footballers are just celebrities who get paid far too much for very little work. Now that I think about it, why would you pay someone a six figure sum to do a childhood activity? Footballers don’t risk life and limb for what they do, their families aren’t lying awake at night wondering if their loved ones will return home alive or in a coffin.

They are always in a hurry to grow up these days, teenager seem to think being an adult is fun. But believe me its not all its cracked up to be, in fact it can be pretty stressful at times. Even making me wish I was seventeen again.

So I’m going to write a list of advantages of being a teenager.

Your Time Is Yours - Meaning you don’t have to spend most of your time working, yes you have to go to school and sit exams but the hours are much less giving you more time to do what you want.

Whether you realize it or not family is important and can have a big impact about what kind of person you grow up to be. Even now no matter how much my parents get on my nerves or upset me I wouldn’t change the way I was raised. It made me the person i am today.

Many teenagers don’t like to spend a lot of time with their parents because they think its uncool. However when I was younger I loved it, I was particularly close with my dad growing up. We would often go to the cinema and he would read me stories in bed or amaze me with magic tricks.
